While Wu Xiu Ya's (Li Geng Xi) life seems perfect on the outside, she can't help but feel frustrated and stifled, constantly putting her own opinions and desires aside to make her family, coworkers, and boyfriend happy. When her high school friend Shi Ye (Wei Da Xun) invites her to his stand-up comedy show, something sparks to life within her – inspired by being in a space where people can freely express themselves, she impulsively grabs the mic from Shi Ye and vents about her problems. To her surprise, the audience seems to love it, and Xiu Ya can't get enough. Will this new interest help Xiu Ya find her own voice?
