He Zhi Nan (Tian Xi Wei) is an ordinary white-collar worker from Beijing, who's highly ambitious despite her humble background. She and her nouveau riche boyfriend, Gao Peng (Zhang Zhe Hua), have been in a long-distance relationship for seven years. While their relationship seems to be going well on the surface, the distance has led Zhi Nan to seek excitement elsewhere, using Gao Peng's wealth to pose as rich and get close to other men. She eventually has an affair with the talented young lawyer Qu Yi Peng (Xin Yun Lai). Yi Peng isn't blameless, though – he cheated on his own girlfriend, Han Su (Zhou Yu Tong), thinking that Zhi Nan's "wealth" will help him secure a better future compared to his rural upbringing. As her relationship and career grow rocky, Zhi Nan later befriends Han Su... but she doesn't know that she's Yi Peng's ex-girlfriend, nor does she know that Han Su's job had her take on Gao Peng as a client!
