Gone with the Rain

A rebellion has devastated the Imperial Court, leaving a power vacuum that unscrupulous opportunists plot to fill. One such scheme sees a woman attempt to win favor by marrying her daughter Bai Fengyao (Wang Yu Wen) to Chen Wende (Sun Yi Zhou), a military leader with famously uncouth ways and a bad reputation. Fengyao, wanting a way out of the union, turns to the person she trusts the most, her orphaned cousin Moxi (Zhang Nan), to help. But interfering inadvertently leads Moxi to a fateful meeting with Wende herself. Will he take a shine to her instead? And will love save the day for all three of them? This 2023 Chinese drama series was based on the novel “Love in the Chaotic Realm” by Ni Luo and was directed by Wang Wei.
