Better a Lie Than a Truth

Su Nian (Niu Yu Kun), an ambitious journalist, seeks a promotion by interviewing Qiao Mu Sheng (Simon Chen), the CEO of an immersive escape room company and her former classmate. Years ago, Mu Sheng had secret feelings for Su Nian but never confessed. After a night of unexpected drinking, Su Nian wakes up next to Lu Jing Nian, who claims to be Mu Sheng's identical twin. Desperate to satisfy her family's expectations, Su Nian blackmails Jing Nian into posing as her fiancé, leading them to a fake marriage and cohabitation. As their relationship develops, questions arise about Jing Nian's true identity and intentions. Based on a novel by Yu Pao Pao, this is a 2022 Chinese drama directed by Deng Zhan Neng.
