In present-day China, Li Jin Bu (Zhuang Da Fei) is a high school girl who was brought up by her loving mother, Li Qing Tong (Chen Hao Yu) in a single-parent family. Life has not always been easy for the two of them, but Li Jin Bu has never really understood why things have turned out the way they have for her mother. Then, one day, Li Jin Bu finds herself in distinctly unfamiliar surroundings. When she hears a TV announcer say that the country is preparing to usher in the Millennium, she realizes that she has magically been transported back to 1999! Then things get even weirder when she meets her mother, back in her younger years. Li Jin Bu strikes up an unlikely friendship with Li Qing Tong, getting to know her friends – and admirers.
