In 1942, the Chinese government dispatches a secret specialized squad, the Chinese Expeditionary Force, to investigate potential Japanese biological weapon development in Burma. Led by the tough female commander Liao Yi Fang (Jia Qing) and including soldiers like Zhao Ban Kuo (Sean Sun) and Little Knife (Caesar Li), the team must navigate treacherous terrain, crossing the raging Nujiang River and scaling the harsh Savage Mountain to locate the hidden Japanese camp. Despite initial tensions and lack of respect among team members, they must work together to survive the dangerous mission and uncover the truth. This is a 2016 Chinese war drama based on the novel Nujiang Zhizhan, directed by Chen Hao Wei.
