IU is the stage name of Lee Ji Eun, a popular South Korean singer-songwriter and actress. Her stage name is derived from the combination of the words “I and You,” symbolizing her hope that people come together through music. IU debuted in 2008 with her single “Lost Child” and gained widespread popularity after her follow-up debut studio album “Growing Up.” After making her acting debut in 2011 in the television drama “Dream High,” she quickly graduated to leading roles with the 2013 dramas “You’re the Best, Lee Soon Shin” and “Beautiful Man.”

But after 11 years, she gave up on that dream when she was unable to memorize difficult dance choreography and decided to switch to acting instead. She made her acting debut in the 2009 television series “High Kick Through the Roof” and then found fame in 2012 with her role in the drama “Queen In Hyun’s Man.” She also has starred in the popular dramas “My Love From the Star” (2013), “My Secret Hotel” (2014), “One More Happy Ending” (2016) and “Goblin” (2016-2017). He made his acting debut in the mid-2000s, when he appeared in dramas such as “Wonderful Life” (2005) and “Hello! Miss” (2007). More recently, he appeared in the movie “Idol Recipe” (2022).
