99.9 Criminal Lawyer SPECIAL 2021: New Encounters

In a country with a 99.9% conviction rate, seeking justice for the innocent isn’t easy. But attorney Taisho Miyama (Matsumoto Jun) doesn’t take on cases just because they’re easy. Continuing his relentless pursuit of truth, Taisho and his partner, Atsuhiro Sada (Teruyuki Kagawa), tirelessly seek justice for the nation’s remaining 0.1%.  After Atsuhiro is named Madarame Law Firm’s new director, he is approached by Shozo Wakatsuki (Ishibashi Renji), the chairman of a successful automotive company, who shamelessly asks the new director for a favor. Hoping to see his daughter Honoka Kono (Sugisaki Hana) become a successful civil lawyer, Shozo asks Atsuhiro to take Honoka under his wing. Agreeing to his request, Honoka joins the Madarame Law Firm. Despite her father’s wishes to focus on civil law, Honoka soon finds herself working side-by-side with Taisho on a criminal case centered around a crooked politician accused of accepting bribes. Though their partnership gets off to a rocky start, Taisho and Honoka, along with Atsuhiro, dive deep into the case, ready to expose the truth at any cost. Relentless though they may be, do they have what it takes to go up against some of the country’s most powerful people?
