Synopsis
During World War II, Bae Jung Gil (Kim Hae Sook) was one of the many South Korean women forced into sexual slavery by the Japanese military. After surviving the war, she did her best to move on by taking a position as a housekeeper for Moon Jung Sook (Kim Hee Ae) — until she goes missing. Jung Gil's disappearance sets Jung Sook on a journey where she uncovers the heartbreaking stories of Jung Gil and the other victims. Determined to help them, Jung Sook takes it upon herself to help the surviving comfort women take on the Japanese government in court. Will these women find justice so long overdue?
Based on real-life events surrounding the Shimonoseki trials, this is a 2018 South Korean drama film directed by Min Kyu Dong.
