When Masayo Tanaka (Haru), unable to pass her art school entrance exam, reluctantly joins her father Daikichi's (Ken Yasuda) love hotel business in Hokkaido, she resigns herself to taking over the Hotel Royal. Her mundane life takes a dramatic turn when a double suicide occurs in the hotel and her father falls ill, forcing Masayo to confront the hotel's deeper significance. As she steps in to manage the business, she begins to see the hotel through a new lens, understanding its importance to her family, staff, and patrons. Determined to save the Hotel Royal, Masayo must find a way to preserve her family's legacy and discover her own purpose. This is a 2020 Japanese film based on the award-winning novel by Shino Sakuragi, directed by Masaharu Take.
