The Day We Lit Up the Sky

Li Ze Lin (Peng Yu Chang) is a student who has failed his university entrance exam. He loves dancing, but he has been sent from his home in the bust city of Guangdong to Haikou, on the balmy Hainan. There, he must stay with his aunt and prepare to retake the exam. But due to a mix-up, instead of going into the local boys’ high school, he ends up walking into Fulin Girls’ School – a school renowned for its top dance teams. When he is there, he notices a girl named Xiao Huang (Natalie Hsu). She dreams of becoming a top dancer, but is shorter than many of her classmates, who bully her relentlessly, claiming that she smells of fish. Regardless, she is undaunted – and hopes to make her dance dreams come true. Li Ze Lin is taken aback by her passion and love for dancing. The two fall for one another – but will their shared love of dancing help or hinder Cupid’s cause? “The Day We Lit Up The Sky” is a 2021 Chinese movie that was directed by Han Yan and Zhang Yi Bai.
