Ricardo Papa has artistic aspirations but has to work as a petty drug dealer to survive. In the run-down Hotel Boyd in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district, he befriends 13-year-old Lattie Fleming but quickly learns that her life is at risk from her mother’s abusive relationship. But then he discovers that a reclusive old man who also lives in the building may hold the key to a better life for all of them.
