Synopsis
Desperate to leave his miserable life behind, Sang Man (Cha Tae Hyun) has tried, on more than occasion, to take his own life. But no matter how many times he tries to end his existence, he just can’t seem to get it right. Convincing himself that this time it will be different, Sang Man jumps off a bridge, plunging into the watery depths below. But just like all of the other times before, his attempt to end his life fails as he’s pulled from the water before death can claim him.
Waking in the hospital, Sang Man finds he’s not alone. Visited by a man no one else can see, Sang Man wonders if his latest suicide attempt has somehow rattled his mind. Distracted by the pretty nurse, Jung Yun Soo (Kang Ye Won), Sang Man tries to ignore the string of invisible visitors who refuse to leave him alone, but to no avail. After being discharged from the hospital, Sang Man is irritated to learn that his mysterious hospital visitors have followed him home. Realizing he’s not crazy but actually being visited by ghosts, Sang Man accepts that the only way to rid himself of these unwanted guests is to help them fulfill their unrealized dreams.
Begrudgingly accepting his fate, Sang Man sets out to do just that, hoping that at the end of it all, he too will be able to leave this world in peace. Will his determination to help these ghosts ultimately bring him what he wants or will it cause him to realize that some things in this world are worth living for after all?
A scary good story full of laughs, “Hello Ghost” is a 2010 comedy film directed by Kim Young Tak.
