
Synopsis
Rom (Tran Anh Khoa), a fourteen-year-old street survivor in Ho Chi Minh City, makes a living as a "runner" selling lottery result slips for số đề, an illegal gambling operation. When rival runner Phuc (Anh Tu) threatens his livelihood, Rom must rely on his uncanny luck to retain his clients and survive. The residents of his rundown apartment complex, facing eviction by creditors, desperately depend on Rom's ability to predict winning lottery numbers as their last hope of salvation. Caught between survival and community, Rom struggles to find a way to help both himself and his neighbors escape their desperate circumstances. This is a gritty 2019 Vietnamese film directed by Tran Thanh Huy that explores the harsh realities of street life and survival.
