Revenge of the Green Dragons

In Flushing, Queens, New York, in 1983 Sonny (Justin Chon) and Steven (Kevin Wu) are childhood best friends. But their boyhood days are torn asunder when a violent human-trafficking mob named the Green Dragons forcibly recruit them to their number. They are put through harrowing and frightening induction rituals. Too afraid to attempt an escape, they resign themselves to their fate, and go along with what the mob and its bosses, including the cold, scheming Paul Wong (Harry Shum Jr.). By the end of the decade, they have both become prominent lieutenants in the mob’s hierarchy. The Green Dragons are dragged into a turf war with a rival Asian-American gang named the White Tigers – but in a tragic turn, Steven accidentally kills an innocent passer-by, sparking a chain of events that threatens to derail the Green Dragons forever. But there are further complications to come: Sonny falls in love with the daughter of one of the mob’s partners, while a determined policeman and an experienced FBI agent start trying to break up the crime ring. As matters come to a head, what will become of Sonny and Steven’s life of crime? Will they be sucked in until the end, or could an escape route present itself? “The Revenge of the Green Dragons” is a 2014 American movie that was directed by Andrew Lau Wai Keung and Andrew Loo.
