Synopsis
As the years of the Goryeo Dynasty come to an end, a young man and his sister set out on a quest to find a better life. Unwilling to settle for the fate they’d been given, Yo Yi (Kim Min Jong) and his younger sister, Hyang Yi (Jin Jae Young), are determined to change their stars, no matter the cost.
Desperate to give his sister the life she deserves, Yo Yi soon joins up with a group of assassins who call themselves the “Romantic Warriors”. With the sole purpose of making money, this ragtag group of self-proclaimed assassins agree to take on the biggest job of their career. There’s just one problem, none of them are actually skilled enough to get the job done. But that doesn’t stop them from trying!
Setting out to fulfill their contract, the warriors don’t get far before they find themselves lost in the woods. Seeking refuge in an abandoned house, they soon find themselves face to face with the ghosts of five women who died holding onto bitter grudges. Believing this untalented group of assassins can help them find the revenge they so desperately seek, they persuade the warriors to fight for them. But can a band of woefully unskilled assassins really help these bitter souls find eternal peace?
A story of goofball assassins, bitter ghosts, and bloody revenge, “Romantic Warriors” is a 2003 historical fantasy comedy film directed by Yoon Je Kyun.
