Keeping up with their academics is hard enough, but when budding romantic tensions and tempers start to rise, it's anyone's guess what will happen next. Third (Gun Atthaphan Phunsawat), along with his three best friends Two (White Nawat Phumphotingam), Bone (Mike Chinnarat Siriphongchawalit), and Khai (Off Jumpol Adulkittiporn), are filmology majors at the local university. Working hard to make their dreams come true, the four best friends are always there for each other but Third has a secret which could destroy everything they’ve worked so hard to achieve.

Having harbored a crush on Khai for years, Third has worked incredibly hard to keep his true feelings for his friend a secret. With years spent watching Khai woo a neverending string of girls, Third is perfectly aware that he has zero chance with his friend. But it’s not just Khai’s constant romancing that has dashed all of Third’s hopes. With Khai adhering to a strict “no dating friends” policy, Third is painfully aware of the fact that his feelings would be rejected, even if Khai was somehow interested. Even so, Third can’t help but harbor ever-growing feelings for Kahi.

With his unrequited love wearing on him by the day, Third eventually decides the time has come to let Khai go and move on. Of course, only after Third has moved on does Khai begin to realize his feelings for his friend may not be strictly platonic. Has Khai missed his chance at true love or will he find a way to win his best friend’s heart?

Adapted from the novel of the same name by JittiRain, “Theory of Love” is a 2019 Thai romance drama directed by X Nuttapong Mongkolsawas.
