Atsuki Morinaga is a Japanese actor. He was born on April 8, 2011, and made his acting debut in 2016. Since then, he has appeared in various films and television dramas, including “Parasite in Love” (2021).

As a man who suffers from extreme mysophobia, Kengo Kosaka (Kento Hayashi) doesn’t have an easy life. With such an extreme fear of contamination dictating his life, Kengo has an incredibly difficult time being around people; as such, he’s never been able to maintain any sort of relationship for long. Essentially cut off from the rest of the world, Kengo can’t deny the fact that he’s incredibly lonely.

Hijiri Sanagi (Nana Komatsu), on the other hand, suffers from her own set of excessive fears. A high school student suffering from scopophobia, or the fear of being stared at, Hijiri has a difficult time at school; which would explain why she skips more times than not. Unable to be around people for long, Hijiri is much happier on her own. But after fate brings Hijiri and Kengo together, things slowly begin to change.

Finding an odd sort of comfort in the company of someone who understands what it’s like to live with an extreme phobia, Kengo and Hijiri naturally draw closer together. As their feelings deepen, they find themselves becoming truly happy; but how long is their newfound happiness destined to last?

Adapted from the novel of the same name written by Sugaru Miaki, “Parasite in Love” is a 2021 Japanese romance film directed by Kensaku Kakimoto.
