Yamada Anna

Haruko Shibuya (Yamada Anna) is a 17-year-old high schooler who feels alienated by life in modern Tokyo. She dreams about meeting a boy she can fall in love with – convinced that romance will help turn her boring and unfulfilling life around. Meanwhile, the once-studious Kenichi Kanagawa (Jin Suzuki) has decided that he is done with high school – he tells his teachers he is quitting school and wants to become a free spirit. He heads out into the city and tries to approach women, hoping to make a sexual conquest.

But this plan appears to backfire quickly: He falls for a young woman named Mayumi (Misato Morita), who appears to be a sex worker. He arranges to take her on a date, but a love rival beats him up and leaved him bloodied on the street. While he is hurt, Haruko Shibuya sees him – and instantly falls for him, thinking he is the Prince Charming she has waited all her life to meet. As they get to know each other, will this duo find love – or will they end up instead discovering who they truly are?

This movie was based on a manga title of the same name by Kyoko Okazaki.

Friends since childhood, Kazusa Onodera (Anna Yamada) and Momoko Sudo (Mei Hata) have grown up together, sharing every moment of their lives with each other. Now in high school, the two girls decide it’s time to branch out and try something new. Drawn to the school’s literature club, the girls agree to join, not knowing that in doing so, their lives would take some interesting and unexpected turns.

As president of the club, Rika Sonezaki (Mayuu Yokota) welcomes the members, both old and new, including Kazusa’s new friend, Niina Sugawara (Tina Tamashiro) and Hitoha Hongo (Shuri Tanaka), the club’s resident aspiring novelist. Suggesting they do a little ice breaker, to get to know each other, the girls are asked a simple question: “What’s one thing you want to do before you die?” With answers that both shock and embarrass, the girls instantly begin to bond.&nbsp;

Despite their differences, the five girls form an unexpected friendship. Side-by-side they navigate the tricky waters of high school, taking their first clumsy and sometimes painful steps towards adulthood, together.

Based on the manga series of the same name, written by Mari Okada, “O Maidens in Your Savage Season” is a 2020 romantic high school drama directed by Mai Sakai, Aya Igashi, and Keita Mizunami.

Yukina (Tina Tamashiro) is a wildly popular pseudonymous author of romantic cell phone novels – books whose writers deliver the latest chapters via text message. In the “real” world, she is a quiet, introverted high schooler who has never had any sort of romantic experience in her life! However, Yukina is now in a quandary: Her readers are clamoring for racier romance stories, full of juicy details. And with no knowledge of this kind of thing, Yukina has to act!

One day, she comes upon a notebook that belongs to Shigure (Yuta Koseki), the most popular guy at school. To all outward observers, Shigure is a model student, well-mannered, and kind. But the secrets of the notebook reveal otherwise – showing that Shigure is not the angel all the girls at school believe him to be. Yukina hatches a devious plan: By using the secrets she’s discovered, she will blackmail Shigure into teaching her about romance – by ordering him to complete “missions of love!” Will the plan work...or could it backfire on her?
