Ally Chiu is a Taiwanese actress who was born on July 4, 1998, in Taiwan. She attended the Juang Jing Vocational High School, but made her entertainment industry debut aged just eight years old, appearing on the long-running TV talent show “Super Idol.” She made her acting debut in 2007, appearing in the series “The Sunshine of Life.” She made her big-screen bow in the film “Just Dance” in 2013. Her more recent works include the eponymous title role in the movie “The Gangster’s Daughter” (2017) and the film “Dear Killer” (2020).

Teenager Shao Wu (Ally Chiu) is fiercely independent. Her father Kei Go (Jack Kao) is a Taipei-based gangster who operates protection rackets, illegal gambling dens, and shady hostess bars. He left Shao Wu and her mother alone many years ago on a small island, a home to fearsome snakes that she, somehow, has never been scared of.

After the death of her mother, Shao Wu is left with her only her grandmother to look after her. Shao Wu’s fearlessness has landed her in trouble of late, though – standing up to male school bullies and the like has landed her in hot water at school.
