Ren Su Xi is a Chinese actress who was born on June 1, 1988, in Yantai, Shandong Province, China. She graduated from the Directing Department of the Beijing-based Central Academy of Drama. She made her acting debut in the drama series “The Eighth Clay Man” in 2006. She has since gone on to appear in numerous movie and film titles, such as the comedy film “Mr. Donkey” (2016) and the movie “Looking Up” (2019).

Inept thief Cobra (Zhang Yu) wants money, and his partner-in-crime Big Head (Pan Bin Long) wants to amass enough cash to take his girlfriend back to their hometown.

The duo plans to commit a robbery – but they soon find themselves in an almighty mess. Their hopeless effort to rob an electrics store ends up with them crashing their motorbike into a tree.

They attempt to hide in an apartment inhabited by a quadriplegic woman named Jia Qi (Ren Su Xi). However, their feeble attempts to intimidate her fall flat.

Meanwhile, a former policeman named Ma Xian Yong (Chen Jian Bin) is also searching for Cobra – who used his stolen shotgun to commit the robbery.

Big Head’s girlfriend is also searching for her man.

With all these folks apparently on a collision course, what will happen when the motley crew finally gets together?

In a compilation of seven short films, seven directors explore the history of modern China and its people, going back to the 1940s and the aftermath of World War II, on the eve of the birth of the People’s Republic of China, through to the 1960s, the 1980s, the 1990s, and finally the 2010s, with stars like Song Jia and Ou Hao making appearances.

The first film focuses on an engineer struggling to organize a ceremony to mark the birth of the nation and the second tells the story of a love-sick nuclear scientist. In the third film, a young boy does what he can to help his neighborhood watch the gold medal match of the women’s volleyball competition in the 1984 Olympic Games.

The remaining films focus on more recent events, including two groups of people preparing for the handover of Hong Kong by the British colonial government in 1997. There is another Olympic story in a film about events surrounding the 2008 Olympics, which were held in Beijing, as a taxi driver decides to gift a ticket he had bought for his own son to another boy.

In the sixth film, two homeless boys watch a spectacular space mission in the 2010s. And in the final film, a female air force pilot attempts to ensure that a military parade to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second Sino-Japanese War goes off without a hitch

Ma Fei (Bai Yu) is an astronaut ready head off to the cosmos for a historic space flight. But his journey to the shuttle has been anything but conventional.

Growing up was tough for him, particularly after his father Ma Hao Wen (Deng Chao) took the wrap for a building project that went wrong. A bridge his company built collapsed right after opening – and Ma Hao Wen was sent to jail for negligence.

Ma Hao Wen had high hopes for his son, but things get very tough for both after his wife, Ma Fei’s mother, decides that divorce is the best option for her.

Ma Fei begins to struggle at school.

But Ma Hao Wen refuses to give up on his son. When he is released, he decides to take responsibility for his child’s education. But that proves very hard when he struggles to find a job, with local companies reluctant to hire a convict.

Undaunted, Ma Hao Wen attempts to teach his son that real education isn’t always found in the pages of schoolbooks.
