Gong Li is an award-winning Chinese-born Singaporean actress. She was born on December 31, 1965 in Shenyang, Liaoning, China, and made her acting debut in 1987. One of the most famous actresses of China’s “Fifth Generation” cinema, she has starred in an overwhelming number of award winning films and has been awarded nearly two dozen awards for “Best Actress” and “Best Supporting Actress”. Since her debut, she has appeared in numerous films, including “Flirting Scholar” (1993) and “The Dragon Chronicles - The Maidens of Heavenly Mountain” (1994).
