Park Hae Il

The year is 1592 and Korea is facing a sea invasion at the hands of the fearsome Japanese navy, who have already made landfall on the Korean peninsula and driven the defending army out of its capital. The Japanese General Wakisaka (Byun Yo Han) is seeking a final, decisive battle that will allow his forces to take total control over the peninsula. The only man who can hope to repel the invaders is the wounded Korean Admiral Yi Sun Shin (Park Hae Il). Wakisaka wants to wipe out Yi’s port and eliminate his foe’s greatest warrior. The stage is set for a battle near the Island of Hansan that will determine the fate of both nations...

Choi Hyun (Park Hae Il) is a South Korean university professor who lives in Beijing with his Chinese wife.

He is outwardly content with his life in China but takes an unconventional trip down memory lane when a childhood friend dies.

He returns to South Korea to attend the funeral and then takes a side trip to the city of Gyeongju, once a favorite haunt for him and his friends.

He decides to visit a café where he remembers he once saw an erotic piece of artwork when he visited with friends many years ago. However, he soon discovers that the café has since changed ownership and its new owner Yoon Hee (Shin Min Ah) has wallpapered over the picture.

He strikes up an unconventional friendship with Yoon Hee – and things get even more complicated when former college flame Yeo Jung (Yoon Jin Seo) comes to pay him a visit.

“Gyeongju” is a 2014 South Korean movie directed by Zhang Lu.

Seong Woo (Lee Eol) is the lead singer and guitarist of the Waikiki Brothers, a struggling band that mainly performs in nightclubs. With his bandmates, the keyboardist Jeong Seok (Park Won Sang) and the drummer Kang Su (Hwang Jung Min), he heads back to his hometown. The group finds work here. But Woo also finds himself reunited with some of his former high school friends. These include In Hui (Oh Ji Hye), his now-widowed first love, as well as some of the people he first started his musical career with. Will this journey down memory lane prove too difficult for the Waikiki Brothers – or could it grant the group a new lease of life? This 2001 South Korean movie was directed by Yim Soon Rye.
