Daniel Wu is an American-Chinese actor and director who was born on September 30, 1974, in Berkeley, California. He was raised in Orinda, California, and attended the University of Oregon. He made his movie debut in 1998 when he featured in “Bishonen.” He has since gone on to star in numerous movies and dramas, scooping the Best Supporting Actor award at the Golden Horse Awards for his appearance in “New Police Story” (2004). More recently, he has appeared in the drama “Into the Badlands” (2015), as well as movies “Go Away Mr. Tumor” (2015) and “Tomb Raider” (2018).

In the early 90’s, a deadly group of criminals known as the Eagle Gang ran rampant throughout China, robbing banks, jewelry shops, and high-end luxury stores, laying waste to anyone who tried to stop them. Led by the sociopathic gangster, Zhang Xun (Daniel Wu), codenamed “Falcon”, this well-trained and utterly ruthless organization became notorious for the devastation they left in their wake.

On his first day as captain of the new criminal investigation bureau, Zhong Chen (Wang Qian Yuan) finds himself caught up in Falcon’s latest heist. In what could easily be considered the worst first day in history, the Eagle Gang takes the new captain hostage, eventually dumping his battered body on the side of the road. But the dedicated detective still has enough wits about him to leave Falcon with a little parting gift. With a foul taste left in his mouth, Zhong Chen vows he will not rest until Falcon and his gang are brought to justice. But the pursuit of this notorious gang proves to be anything but easy.

For the better part of a decade, Zhong Chen and Falcon remain locked in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse; but luck on both sides has started to run very thin, leaving both to wonder, which side will prevail when the luck runs out?

Loosely based on a series of crimes that rocked China in the 1990’s, “Caught in Time” is a 2020 action crime film written and directed by Ho Leung Lau.

Yang Lu Chan (Yuan Xiao Chao) is a bumbling wanderer with a strange affliction that once threatened his life. In order to solve the problem, he traveled to a small village full of martial artists in an attempt to learn their secret form of kung fu. They initially refused as they have promised never to teach an outsider. But after he helped them fight off Fang Zi Jing (Eddie Peng) and his wicked plans to build a railway through their village, the residents decided to take him in – provided he married Chen Yu Niang (Angelababy).

Regardless, the villagers still consider Yang Lu Chan to be something of a buffoon – particularly Chen Yu Niang, who insists that he call her “master!” But when Fang Zi Jing returns with a powerful military force, replete with heavily armed soldiers, a flying machine, and cannons backing him up, the village is once again under threat. The villagers realize that they need heroes to step up to the plate and fight back...or risk seeing their settlement wiped off the map forever. Do Yang Lu Chan and his master/wife Chen Yu Niang have what it takes to thwart this wicked scheme?

This film is the sequel to “Tai Chi Zero,” which featured many of the same characters and actors and was released in 2012.

Yang Lu Chan (Yuan Xiao Chao) is a wandering oddball with a very strange talent that is also his curse: He has a small horn on his forehead that, if struck, grows and turns him into an unstoppable fighter capable of defeating an entire army. Unfortunately, each time this happens to him, he grows closer to death. This perilous situation means that a few more strikes to the horn could leave him dead. He decides that he needs to learn a powerful martial art that will let him safeguard his life.

His quest leads him to a small sleepy village whose residents all know a powerful secret form of kung fu. But the village has vowed never to teach their skills to an outsider. The whole settlement, including the village elder’s daughter Yu Niang (Angelababy), wants to send Yang Lu Chan away. But just as they think they have got rid of him, Yu Niang’s former lover Fang Zi Jing (Eddie Peng) arrives with a sidekick in a steam-power mechanical contraption. This fiendish duo plans to use this machine to build a railway that will pass straight through the middle of the city. The villagers decide to fight back – and Yang Lu Chan pledges to help!
