Feng Wen Juan is a Chinese actress. Born on August 20, 1989, she also is known by the English name Joyce Feng. She made her acting debut in the 2012 alongside Chow Yun Fat in the action film “The Last Tycoon.” She also has appeared in the film “Operation Mekong” (2016) and the television drama “Attack It, Lightning!” (2017).

The year is 2019 and in the Chinese city of Wuhan, Hubei Province, doctors begin admitting patients who appear to have fallen ill with some kind of disease with symptoms quite unlike any other illness. Perplexed by the outbreak, doctors at front-line healthcare clinics such as the Wuhan Jin Yin Tan Hospital – including Wen Ting (Yuan Quan), Tao Jun (Zhu Ya Wen), Wu Chen Guang (Li Chen), and Zhang Jing Yu (Zhang Han Yu) – find themselves treating hundreds of patients per day, all of whom appear to have fallen ill with the disease.

The deputy head of a criminal investigation unit Zhao Ting Hui (Du Chun), a former undercover cop named Yan Jin (Lin Geng Xin), and an innocent-seeming café owner called Ji Xiao Ou (Gai Yue Xi) become embroiled in a fateful murder investigation that threatens to turn their worlds upside down.

In his previous career as a policeman, Yan Jin posed as an underworld mobster to take down a powerful drug cartel. During his time spent undercover, he met Ji Xiao Ou, and the duo began on a romance that has since become idyllic.

But the lovebirds get a rude awakening when a friend of Ji Xiao Ou’s – a man who had a crush on her – is suddenly killed in mysterious circumstances.

Yan Jin is identified as the prime suspect, and attempts to evade the authorities so he can clear his name, while Zhao Ting Hui is dispatched to investigate.

A cowardly and struggling artist-turned-criminal named Lee Man (Aaron Kwok) is extradited from a prison in Thailand to Hong Kong to help the police track down a mysterious and fearsome criminal genius known only as Painter (Chow Yun Fat).

After initially refusing to talk, the police let Lee Man see a former girlfriend who tells him that Painter has killed her lover and wants to take her life, too. This eventually seems to convince him to spill the beans to the police.

He explains how when he was a struggling artist in Canada, Painter convinced him to join a counterfeit United States dollar printing ring – using Lee Man’s advanced copying skills.

Lee Man goes on to explain how he eventually joined Painter’s gang, having already lost everything he ever held dear – but eventually found he had bitten off far more than he could chew.

However, as Lee Man reluctantly remembers his time in the criminal gang, the plot begins to thicken – and he continues to warn of the terrible retribution that will befall him if Painter learns he is cooperating with the police.
