Konkona Sen Sharma was born in New Delhi. Konkona is most well known for her performances in arthouse and independent Hindi films. By 1983, Konkona had made her debut as a child actress in the Bengali film Indira. She first gained critical acclaim for her role in the English-language film Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, for which she won a National Film Award for Best Actress. Since then she has starred in many English, Bengali, and Hindi Films.Konkona won a Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award, and a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Omkara in 2006. She also won a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress and an IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Life in a…Metro in 2007. Konkona married Ranvir Shorey in September 2010, and gave birth to her first son, Haroon, in March 2011. Konkona comes from a filmy background as her mother Aparna Sen was a famous actress. Her maternal grandmother was a noted film analyst and an eminent writer.
