Yu Hao Ming is an award-winning Chinese singer and actor. He was born in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, on November 14, 1987 and made his debut in the entertainment industry in 2007, with the release of his first solo EP, “If I Could Love You”. The following year he made his debut as an actor, taking his first role in a television drama. Since then, he has appeared in a number of films and television dramas, including “Our Glamorous Time” (2018) and “The Eight Hundred” (2020).

In 1988, Wei Guo Ping (Zhang Yi) was a rookie police officer who endured an ordeal no law enforcer should ever have to be put through. He and his colleagues were investigating a serial murder case. During their investigation, a number of them were killed. The murderer escaped without a trace.

From that day on, Wei Guo Ping has gone about his duties with a heavy heart. But that has not stopped him from enforcing the law to the best of his abilities. Now, in the 1990s, he has risen to the rank of captain. He has several loyal allies, including Nie Xiao Yu (Chen Yu Si), a young woman who devoted her life to him after he saved her life. The year is 228 of the Common Era, and China is divided into Three Kingdoms, which find themselves at odds with each other. During the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945), Imperial Japanese forces have taken charge of swathes of Chinese land. However, the would-be colonial powers are blighted by resistance fighters who have targetted trains carrying food, ammunition, and other supplies to the Japanese army. The fighters are a rag-tag group of railway workers and miners, and are led by the veteran Hong (Zhang Han Yu). Securing supplies for mountain-based guerilla combatants is a must in the resistance movement.

Hong’s operation operates out of a railway yard in Lincheng. But with the aid of the linguist and double agent Old Wang (Fan Wei) and the nurse Zhuang Yan (Zhou Ye), he starts making breakthroughs. This all sparks the ire of the Imperial Japanese, however, who dispatch a crack investigator to ensure that a huge stash of weapons reaches its intended target. Will Hong manage to intercept the cache’s passage through China – or will the fiendishly clever uncover the secret operation?

“Railway Heroes” is a 2021 Chinese movie that was directed by Yang Feng.

In 1937, shortly after the start of the Second Sino-Japanese War, the Imperial Japanese Army invaded Shanghai. After more than three months of brutal fighting, the Japanese army showed no signs of weakening. Suffering heavy losses, the Chinese army was forced to make an impossible decision: retreat and lose the city, or stay and risk being entirely overrun.&nbsp;

In an act of unprecedented bravery, Lieutenant Colonel Xie Jin Yuan (Du Chun) of the 524th Regiment, of the poorly equipped 88th Division of the National Revolutionary Army, led 452 young officers and soldiers into battle. Knowing their mission would undoubtedly fail, the brave young men followed their Lieutenant Colonel to the Sihang Warehouse. There they made their last stand against the 3rd Imperial Japanese Division, a division consisting of nearly 20,000 troops. Against impossible odds, these 400 soldiers held out against the relentless Japanese army for four days, providing the rest of the Chinese army the time they needed to retreat.

Though these brave men ultimately lost the battle, their stand at the Sihang Warehouse would bolster the morale of the Chinese army and earn them a place in history as legendary heroes.

Based on actual events, “The Eight Hundred” is a 2020 historical war film directed by Guan Hu.
