Zhang Tong, also known as Candy Zhang, is a Chinese actress who was born in Urumqi, in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. She graduated from the Central Academy of Drama’s Acting Department. She debuted in 1995 with a role in a war-themed movie. She has since gone on to star in dramas like “The Grand Merchants” (2022) and “Ye Cheng” (2023).

Princess Shu Cheng (Claire Jia) is a fierce warrior in the Kingdom of Great Chu, where women rule and men must obey. When the palace is attacked, she escapes with a group of female soldiers, only to encounter a mysterious injured man along the way. Taking pity on him, Shu Cheng helps him out of the palace. However, to her surprise, he turns out to be a skilled fighter who saves her from an ambush. This man, Shen Ye (Yuan Hao), has hidden his true identity and long harbored feelings for Shu Cheng. As she battles to restore order to the kingdom, Shu Cheng must decide if she can trust Shen Ye with both her kingdom and her heart. This 2023 Chinese drama was based on a novel by Xi Ge and was directed by Luo Zhi Gang.
