Figaro Zeng, born Zeng Shao Zhong, is a Taiwanese singer, artist, and actor. He was born on November 18, 1981, and made his debut in the entertainment industry in 2001, when he took his first role in a television drama. In 2002, he debuted as a member of the Taiwanese boy band, Comic Boyz. Since his debut, he has appeared in a wide variety of films and television dramas, including “Autumn’s Concerto” (2009), “Oh, Pretty Woman” (2018), “Undercover Carp” (2019), and “Definitely Not Today” (2021).

Mi Chong (Leon Leong) is a young man with crippling social anxiety. He is so unsatisfied with his miserable existence, which mainly involves staying at home all day, frozen with fear about social interaction, that he finally decides to end his life. He heads down to a nearby river, intent on committing suicide. But when he sees a young girl named Zhi Liu (Vivienne Tien) n the river, about to drown, he instinctively dives in to save her.

Little did he know but Zhi Liu has also been through a very rough time. Unlike him, she is an extravert, but her tumultuous family life has taken its toll on her, and she wants to get away from the people who have caused her pain. An unlikely friendship develops between these two individuals, despite their polar opposite personalities – but could love also follow?

This drama was partly based on real-life court cases that were processed by the Chinese prosecution service, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate.

Chen Miao (Zoey Lin) is a somewhat uncouth 25-year-old woman who was brought up without any manners by her loving but negligent and equally uncouth father. She is bubbly and optimistic, and her close male friend appears to have a secret crush on her. But when her paths cross with Wei Dong (Figaro Zeng), the son of a wealthy family headed by a notable judge, her life turns upside down. She falls in love with him at first sight, although he doesn’t really know what to make of her. Unfortunately, due to her father’s carelessness in causing a fire that damages the Weis’ property, she gets off on the wrong foot with Wei Dong and his family – and ends up having to work as the family’s maid.

However, she thinks that from here, she may be able to win Wei Dong’s heart. The rest of the family, however, is horrified by her lack of manners and instead hatches a plan to engineer a relationship between Wei Dong and a “more suitable” young woman from a similarly wealthy family. Chen Miao tries to change her tactics by adopting “polite” ways – creating more awkwardness than ever before. Nominated for the Best Marketing Programme at the 45th Golden Bell Awards in Taiwan, the series is credited for making child actor Xiao Xiao Bin into a superstar and is the second highest-rated Taiwanese idol drama after “Fated to Love You” (2008).
