Choi Jong Won is a South Korean actor who was born on January 27, 1950, in Taebaek, South Korea. He studied at the Seoul Institute of the Arts and began acting in stage plays in the mid-1970s. He made his screen debut in 1978, appearing in the movie “Grave Wood.” He has since gone on to appear in scores of movies and dramas, including the films “Kim’s War” (1992) and “Le Grand Chef 2: Kimchi Battle” (2010), as well as the dramas “Six Children” (1998) and “Mr. Sunshine” (2018).

“Untouchable” Viewers Speculate On Murderer’s Identity

One son chooses power while another son chooses justice. The powerful and corrupt Jang family has controlled the city of Bukcheon for three generations. The current leader of the family operations is Jang Beom Ho (Park Geun Hyung), and his oldest son, Jang Ki Seo (Kim Sung Kyun), follows in his father’s footsteps in all the ruthless dealings to keep a stronghold on the city through whatever violent means necessary.

The second son, Jang Joon Seo (Jin Goo), decides to pursue a more noble life by becoming a police detective. When Joon Seo’s wife ends up being killed, Joon Seo is determined to get to the bottom of the murder, even if it means exposing dirty secrets about his own powerful family. 

Seo Yi Ra (Jung Eun Ji), a prosecutor, is intent on bringing the Jang family to justice. But she has to contend with Joon Seo and Goo Ja Kyung (Go Jun Hee), the daughter of the former president, in her quest to bring down the powerful crime family.

A culinary-themed diplomatic incident occurs during a meeting between the South Korean president and the prime minister of Japan: While the two political leaders discuss kimchi, the Japanese PM boldly declares that kimchi was invented by the Japanese, while the South Korean leader insists that the dish was first created by Korean cooks.

The incident leads the South Korean government to raise the profile of kimchi – both domestically and abroad – by hosting a high-profile kimchi-making contest.

Song Chan (Jin Goo) resolves to join the contest in a bid to save a restaurant that once belonged to his mother, using his mother’s mouth-watering kimchi recipe.

But standing in his way is his step-sister Jang Eun (Kim Jung Eun). She is currently running the restaurant, but wants to close it – and still resents her mother for being so cold and distant to her during their childhood.

The step-siblings agree to take part in the contest – agreeing that the winner will decide the fate of the family restaurant.
