Despite not being biologically related, Kim Sanha (Hwang In Youp), Yoon Juwon (Jung Chaeyeon), and Kang Haejun (Bae Hyeonseong) share a close bond with each other. In the late 18th century, the Joseon King believes that a spate of murders may have been committed as part of a wider conspiracy. This new probe sees his path cross with the stunning Han Kaek Joo (Han Ji Min), a charismatic female trade magnate who appears to hold the key to a number of the secrets involved with the case. But as the investigation deepens, Detective K starts to realize that the conspiracy may be much more complex than he first feared!
