Hwang Byung Gook is a South Korean actor, screenwriter, and director who was born on August 22, 1968. He graduated from Dongguk University's Graduate School of&nbsp;Film, and made his debut as a writer and director, penning the screenplay and directing the movie “Wedding Campaign” in 2005. He has also appeared in a wide range of movies, such as “Boomerang Family” in 2013, “Fashion King” in 2015, and the more recent “Best Friend” (2020).

In 1980s South Korea, Lee Eui Shik (Oh Dal Soo) is a popular left-wing politician and potential presidential candidate who returns from spending time abroad to find he has been placed under house arrest.

His political rivals have nothing but trumped-up charges to accuse him of, however, so must urgently come up with something concrete to charge him with – or risk needing to let him go free.

In a desperate move, a government agency assigns a team of poorly performing covert spies to pose as a family and move into the house next door.

Headed by Dae Kwon (Jung Woo) and featuring the clumsy bugging expert Dong Shik (Kim Byung Chul), this team – somehow – successfully manages to plant surveillance devices in Lee Eui Shik’s house.

Finally privy to his conversations with family members and others, they start to get to know more about the real Lee Eui Shik.

However, the more they listen in to his private conversations, the more they realize that Lee Eui Shik is perhaps is not the corrupt villain his political rivals have been so keen to paint him as after all…

“Best Friend” is a 2020 South Korean movie that was directed by Lee Hwan Kyung.

A ruthless politician is in cahoots with Lee Kang Hee (Baek Yoon Shik), a corrupt journalist who works for an influential national newspaper.

With help from Lee Kang Hee, the politician becomes a leading presidential candidate – at the behest of two companies that are secretly funneling funds to Lee Kang Hee’s newspaper and hoping to install the candidate as their own political puppet.

Ahn Sang Goo (Lee Byun Hun) is a go-between for the corrupt companies, who decide to cut him off suddenly after a mishap.

Ahn Sang Goo decides to take his revenge by holding a press conference to expose details of a slush fund set up by the companies and the politician, whom he accuses of cutting off his hand.

In steps Woo Jang Hoon (Cho Seung Woo), a determined young prosecutor intent on putting an end to the corruption and violence – but aware that doing so will be anything but easy.
