After university professor Hak Kyu (Jung Woo Sung) becomes entangled in a sexual harassment scandal. He leaves behind his wife and daughter and relocates to a small rural town, where he takes a position as an instructor at a cultural center. There, he meets Deo Kee (Esom), a young woman who works at an old amusement park, and the two begin a passionate affair. However, upon learning that he's been reinstated as a professor, Hak Kyu returns home, abandoning Deo Kee without a word. Heartbroken and betrayed, Deo Kee thirsts for revenge. She gets the opportunity eight years later when she moves in next door to Hak Kyu under a different name – and Hak Kyu, now a recluse after his family broke apart and he began losing his vision, has no idea. This retelling of the Korean folktale "The Tale of Sim Chong" unfolds in a twisted tale of love, betrayal, and retribution.
