Kim Ki Chun is a South Korean actor who was born in 1957. He debuted in 1993, appearing in the movie “Seopyeonje,” following up the next year with “Taebak Mountains.” He began acting in drama series titles in 2013, when he appeared in “The Queen of the Office.” More recently, he has appeared in the South Korean adaptation of “Life on Mars” (2018) and “Kkondae Intern” (2020).

Ha Ji Won and Ha Jung Woo to Work Together for First Time in New Film, “Chronicle of a Blood Merchant”

In 1980s South Korea, Lee Eui Shik (Oh Dal Soo) is a popular left-wing politician and potential presidential candidate who returns from spending time abroad to find he has been placed under house arrest.

His political rivals have nothing but trumped-up charges to accuse him of, however, so must urgently come up with something concrete to charge him with – or risk needing to let him go free.

In a desperate move, a government agency assigns a team of poorly performing covert spies to pose as a family and move into the house next door.

Headed by Dae Kwon (Jung Woo) and featuring the clumsy bugging expert Dong Shik (Kim Byung Chul), this team – somehow – successfully manages to plant surveillance devices in Lee Eui Shik’s house.

Finally privy to his conversations with family members and others, they start to get to know more about the real Lee Eui Shik.

However, the more they listen in to his private conversations, the more they realize that Lee Eui Shik is perhaps is not the corrupt villain his political rivals have been so keen to paint him as after all…

He is arrested and charged with the child’s murder and assault and when a court finds him guilty, he is imprisoned.

In the prison, he pines for his beloved daughter and is ostracised by his cellmates, who are outraged by the notion of having to share a cell with a child molesting murderer – unaware that he is actually innocent of the crime. But when he bravely steps in to save the life of So Yang Ho (Oh Dal Soo), a powerful gang leader, the cellmates start to realize that Yong Gu is actually a very tender-hearted, innocent, and misunderstood individual. They plot to help reunite him with his daughter – even if it means smuggling her into the prison!
