Unfortunately, Major Ri Hyun Sang (Koo Kyo Hwa) of the State Security Department is sent to their unit to investigate rumors of deserters and uncovers their plot. Because he knew Kyu Nam as a child, he covers up the incident by framing Kyu Nam as a hero who thwarted a defection. But Kyu Nam still dreams of leaving, and tries to defect once again.
