As a bestselling author, Hyun (Ryu Seung Ryong) has known his fair share of fame and fortune, unfortunately that success hasn’t carried over into his personal life. Having divorced his first wife, Mi Ae (Oh Na Ra) years ago, Hyun doesn’t see his son, Sung Kyung (Sung Yoo Bin) as often as he would like. To make matters worse, his current wife, Hye Jin (Ryu Hyun Kyung) and daughter are living abroad while his daughter studies. As miserable as his personal life is, things professionally have only gotten worse as the years have gone by.  Suffering from a serious case of writer’s block, it’s been seven years since Hyun last had a book published. No matter how many times he sits down to write, or how hard he tries, he just can’t seem to work past this insufferable block. Taking time away from his writing to deliver a lecture at a local university, Hyun finds himself intrigued by the writing of Yoo Jin (Mu Jin Seong), one of the students in his class. Impressed by Yoo Jin’s writing and hoping a fresh perspective will help him overcome his current block, Hyun asks Yoo Jin to work on a novel together. Unable to resist the chance to work with such a well-known author, Yoo Jin accepts Hyun’s offer and the two immediately get to work. Feeding off each other’s creativity, their novel begins to take shape, but things take an unexpected turn when Yoo Jin begins to feel more for his mentor than admiration and respect. Will these newfound feelings get in the way of Hyun and Yoo Jin’s work or will they inspire their best work yet? An unexpectedly hilarious tale of life and love, “Perhaps Love” is a 2021 South Korean comedy drama film directed by Jo Eun Ji.

A year into the Korean War, South Korea’s Geoje Island has become home to an American-run prison camp, housing everyone from tap dancing officers to rebellious North Korean soldiers. When the commanding officer of the camp orders Sergeant Jackson (Jared Grimes) to form a dance troupe and prepare a Christmas production meant to wow the international media and improve the U.S. Army’s public image, the one-time dancer doesn’t even know where to start. Setting up a camp-wide audition, Jackson begins screening talent, but the task isn’t easy. Finding a handful of rare gems in an otherwise bleak world, Jackson recruits a motley assortment of prisoners, including Xiao Pang (Kim Min Ho), a shy Chinese soldier whose timid demeanor hides some slick moves; Kang Byung Sam (Oh Jung Se), a South Korean prisoner falsely accused of being a Communist sympathizer, who hopes the exposure of the troupe will help him find his missing wife; Yang Pan Rae (Park Hye Soo), a civilian who uses her dancing skills to make money for her family; and Ro Ki Soo (D.O.), a North Korean soldier with a hidden penchant for dancing. As unlikely as it sounds, this rag-tag team comes together to make something truly beautiful; but war is an ugly thing and its oppressive weight is ever-present. Loyalties will be tested and hearts will rend as this close-knit group of dancers tries to overcome the never-ending string of obstacles that come with living as prisoners of war. Based on the musical “Roh Ki Soo”, “Swing Kids” is a 2018 musical drama film directed by Kang Hyeong Cheol.
