Ryoo Seung Bum is a South Korean actor who is considered one of the top actors of his generation. Born on August 9, 1980, he rose to fame appearing in the eclectic films directed by his brother, Ryoo Seung Wan, making his acting debut in the 2000 film “Die Bad” (for which he won Best New Actor at the Grand Bell Awards) and also starring in “Arahan (2004), “Crying Fist” (2005), “The Unjust” (2010) and “The Berlin File” (2013). Ryoo Seung Bum gained critical acclaim and many acting awards throughout his prolific acting career. Some of his recent notable titles include the films “No Mercy” (2010), “The Servant” (2010), “The Suicide Forecast” (2011), “Over My Dead Body” (2012) and “Perfect Number” (2012). Ryoo Seung Bum also has gained the reputation of being an eccentric dresser, landing on both the best-dressed and worst-dressed lists for his unpredictable fashion sense.

Doh Il Chul (Park Jung Min) is the son of a famous gambler, and a young student preparing to take the civil service entrance exam.
However, he also lives a double life, as a successful poker player in an underground casino.

Life takes an unexpected turn when he meets an attractive woman called Madonna (Choi Yu Hwa). He develops a crush on her but discovers that she owes a debt to a rich man.

Doh Il Chul later meets this man and challenges him to a game of poker – hoping to win Madonna’s heart in the process. Unfortunately, he loses spectacularly, and ends up knee-deep in debt, with loan sharks closing in.

In steps One Eyed Jack (Ryu Seung Bum), a former associate of Doh Il Chul’s father.

He agrees to pay off the loan sharks on one condition: Doh Il Chul must join a gang of elite gamblers in an audacious bid to plot to steal a small fortune from a wealthy business magnate.

Will One Eyed Jack’s plan prove to be a success, or will the gamblers’ plans come to naught?

Seong Woo (Lee Eol) is the lead singer and guitarist of the Waikiki Brothers, a struggling band that mainly performs in nightclubs. With his bandmates, the keyboardist Jeong Seok (Park Won Sang) and the drummer Kang Su (Hwang Jung Min), he heads back to his hometown. The group finds work here. But Woo also finds himself reunited with some of his former high school friends. These include In Hui (Oh Ji Hye), his now-widowed first love, as well as some of the people he first started his musical career with. Will this journey down memory lane prove too difficult for the Waikiki Brothers – or could it grant the group a new lease of life? This 2001 South Korean movie was directed by Yim Soon Rye.
