Kim Myung Min is an award-winning South Korean actor. Born on October 8, 1972, he broke into acting after winning a public acting contest in 1996. After playing various supporting roles for about five years, he landed his first leading role in the 2001 film “Sorum.” Kim Myung Min then suffered a series of bad luck with projects over the next three years and even toyed with the idea of immigrating to New Zealand. But he was offered the lead role in the epic 2004 historical drama “Immortal Admiral Yi Sun Shin,” for which he won the Best Actor award and catapulted to fame. He has since starred in many popular films and television dramas since, including “Beethoven Virus” (2008), “King of Dramas” (2012), “A New Leaf” (2014) and “Six Flying Dragons” (2015-2016), as well as the film “Proof of Innocence” (2016).

The year is 1950, and much of South Korea has fallen to invading armies from the North.

Southern forces, in conjunction with the American military, are planning an audacious bid to recapture the port of Incheon from the sea.

However, the allied generals believe that if they are to be successful in Incheon, they will need a diversion – to draw North Korean forces away from the heavily defended port.

The allied military hatches a plan. They will send a group of 772 raw, young recruits, including lowly private Choi Sung Pil (Choi Minho) and led by inexperienced commander Lee Myung Joon (Kim Myung Min), to Jansari, a beach in North Gyeongsang Province. The operation is top secret, and generals privately do not expect the soldiers to return alive.

As soon as the mission begins, the green forces soon realize they are hopelessly unequipped, with barely enough weapons and ammunition to defend themselves – or enough food and equipment to survive.

American news reporter Maggie Higgins (Megan Fox) learns of the plan, and attempts to gain help from the international community – but is it already too late for the young soldiers?

Song Hyun Cheul (Kim Myung Min) is a financial industry hotshot. At 42 years old, he is the youngest bank manager in the business and has been placed in charge of a prestigious branch in the affluent Gangnam district of Seoul.

Suddenly in possession of a rich man’s livelihood, the “new” Song Hyun Cheul is torn between his new-found affections for Seon Hye Jin and his devoted wife Cho Yeon Hwa (Ra Mi Ran) – who has unfortunately inherited her dead husband’s debt.

And the whole scenario is complicated yet further when Seon Hye Jin’s new boss develops a crush on her – and her “new” husband starts behaving like a real gentleman to her all of a sudden!

In the late 18th century, the Joseon King believes that a spate of murders may have been committed as part of a wider conspiracy. This new probe sees his path cross with the stunning Han Kaek Joo (Han Ji Min), a charismatic female trade magnate who appears to hold the key to a number of the secrets involved with the case. But as the investigation deepens, Detective K starts to realize that the conspiracy may be much more complex than he first feared!

Soon after they marry, however, Baek Jong Woo’s condition begins to deteriorate. He tries to push her away, hoping to spare her the pain of watching him die. But he is about to discover that true love cannot be deterred so easily…

“Closer to Heaven” is a 2009 South Korean movie that was written and directed by Park Jin Pyo.
