Kim Young Ae was an award-winning veteran South Korean actress. Born on April 21, 1951, she launched her career after participating in an open recruitment for one of the major television networks in 1971. After making her acting debut in the 1971 television drama “Chief Inspector,” she enjoyed a prolific career in films and television dramas. Some of her memorable recent roles included “The Moon Embracing the Sun” (2012), “Medical Top Team” (2013), “Liar Game” (2014), “Birth of a Beauty” (2014), “Kill Me, Heal Me” (2015), “Mirror of the Witch” (2016), “Doctors” (2016) and “Laurel Tree Tailors” (2016-2017), as well as the film “Proof of Innocence” (2016). Kim Young Ae passed away on April 9, 2017, at the age of 66 from recurrent pancreatic cancer.

Ji Hong is a doctor who decided to become a high school teacher. He meets Hye Jung, a reckless student who happens to be his favorite neighbor’s granddaughter, and later turns out to be his student. “Mirror of the Witch” is a 2016 South Korean drama series directed by Jo Hyun Tak. The series is inspired by the Mirror of Eastern Medicine (Dongui Bogam), a book compiled by the royal physician Heo Jun and published during the Joseon Dynasty and considered a classic in the study of Korean traditional medicine.
