Shim Eun Kyung is a highly acclaimed South Korean actress who started her career as a child actress and then made a successful transition into adult roles. Born on May 31, 1994, she made her acting debut when she was 9 years old in the 2004 television series “The Woman Who Wants to Marry.” She has since starred in many hit films and television dramas, winning numerous Best Actress awards along the way. Shim Eun Kyung was part of an ensemble female cast in the 2011 film “Sunny,” which became a blockbuster. She also starred in the 2014 comedy film “Miss Granny,” which was a box-office success and brought her many Best Actress accolades, as well as “Sori: Voice From the Heart” (2016). Shim Eun Kyung has been equally prolific on the small screen, starring in such notable television dramas as “Tomorrow Cantabile” (2014).

One Day Off

As children, Yui Soma (Inoue Mao) and Naoki Torino (Sato Takeru) were the best of friends. Having lived with the same foster family for a time, the two were incredibly close but as often happens in cases such as theirs, the two were separated and eventually lost touch.&nbsp;

Now adults, Yui and Naoki are both equally surprised when fate decides to bring them together once more. Picking up where they left off all those years ago, Yui and Naoki soon find that the fondness they felt for each other as children has grown into something much deeper. At seven years old, Hee Joo (Shim Eun Kyung) lost her father. Working as a detective on a string of grisly murders, Hee Joo’s father was murdered by Ki Bum (Kim Sung Oh), the very same serial killer he was trying to catch. Eventually arrested, Ki Bum was tried for the series of brutal murders but with a lack of evidence to link him to every murder, he was only found guilty on a single charge. Sentenced to prison for the murder of his cheating girlfriend, Ki Bum was locked away, but not for life.

Taking Hee Joo in after the death of her father, Detective Dae Young (Yoon Je Moon) has raised her as his own. Now, fifteen years later, Hee Joo has become a sort of mascot of the precinct where she volunteers, a living reminder of what the police work to protect and serve. With Ki Bum’s imminent release looming ever-closer, both Dae Young and Hee Joo find themselves wondering what they’ll do once he’s made a free man. Having worked on the original case with Hee Joo’s father, Detective Dae Young (Yoon Je Moon) is determined to put Ki Bum back in jail. But Hee Joo has plans of her own.
