Kyoko Fukada is an award-winning Japanese actress and singer. She was born in Tokyo, Japan on November 2, 1982, and made her acting debut in 1997. Since then, she has appeared in countless films and television dramas, including “Residential Complex” (2018).

Once a model student with a bright future ahead of her, Harumi Junko (Kyoko Fukada) should be living the dream. But after she was denied admission to Tokyo University, her life started to take a very definite downhill turn. Struggling to find a job and failing at every relationship she’s ever had, thirty-one year old Harumi is now living a very different life than the one she once imagined for herself. Taking work as a teacher at a private cram school, Harumi wonders if her life could possibly get any worse.

As if the universe was determined to answer that question for her, one-by-one Harumi’s cram school students begin dropping her class, leaving her superiors to wonder if it isn’t time to let her go. To make matters worse, her mother won’t stop hounding her about her non-existent love life. Ready to give up on everything, Harumi confides in her long-time friend, Masashi Yakumo (Kento Nagayama) who unbeknownst to her, has secretly harbored a crush on her for the past twenty-years. Smitten by the woman who helped him graduate, all those years ago, Yuri’s high school teacher, Kazuma Yamashita (Tomoya Nakamura) has decided the time is finally right to confess his love.&nbsp;

Tired of living in their cramped apartment, Nana Igarashi (Kyoko Fukada) and her husband Daiki (Kenichi Matsuyama) decide to move to a cooperative house. With a much more spacious place to call home, the scuba instructor and her salaryman agree there couldn’t be a better time to start growing their little family. But having a baby isn’t as easy as it seems, especially not when they share space with such interesting neighbors.

Sharing the co-op with the Igarashis, the Komiyamas appear to be a happy, well-to-do family, but the truth couldn’t be more opposite. With Shinichiro (Toru Nomaguchi) out of work and Miyuki’s (Sei Matobu) spending habits out of control, the couple face a growing number of problems. But they’re not the only residents with issues. Not yet married, Ryoji (Hiroyuki Hirayama) and Chihiro (Maryjun Takahashi) have plans to spend a beautiful life together, but when Ryoji’s ex-wife passes, his estranged son must move in with them. Having spent his entire life living in the closet, Wataru (Hidekazu Mashima) has no plans of changing anytime soon. The polar opposite, Saku (Takumi Kitamura) wants nothing more than to live his life loud and proud, enjoying his life with Wataru to the fullest. But how can he do that when his partner refuses to acknowledge their relationship in public?

With each resident family dealing with their own set of life-changing issues, can Nana and Daiki find a way to help others while simultaneously working on their own problems? Or will the strain of living such a complicated life prove to be too much?

Michio (Kyoko Fukada) is a 30-year-old woman who has fallen on hard times. The company she used to work for went bankrupt, leaving her without a job. She has repeatedly tried to find a new job ever since, but has struck out at every turn. She is living off her savings, but her finances are running perilously thin – particularly as she also has to support her boyfriend, who also does not bring in any income.

But life takes an unexpected turn for Michio when she runs into her former manager Ayumu (Dean Fujioka). When they used to work together, his imposing attitude used to fill her with fear. But he seems somehow different away from her former workplace. And instead of taking on a similar job, Michio discovers that he is instead running his grandmother’s old tea shop. He offers her a part-time job at the shop and she accepts. As the duo begins to spend more time together, could Michio find herself drawn to the man she was once so afraid of?

This drama was based on a hit manga series by Aya Nakahara that was serialized in 2013.
