Vicky Chen, born Chen Wen Qi, but better known by her stage name, Wen Qi, is an award-winning Taiwanese actress. She was born on August 10, 2003 and made her acting debut in 2013. In 2017, at the age of fourteen, she won the Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actress and was the youngest actor in history to be nominated for the Golden Horse Award for Best Leading Actress. Since her debut, she has appeared in a number of films and television dramas, including “Eagles and Youngster” (2018) and “Somewhere Winter” (2019).

In the year 2035, the development of artificial intelligence has progressed so far that the world now has a substantial population of humanoid robots. Entirely indistinguishable from humans, these androids have started to raise some serious concerns among the general public.

While the vast majority of the population has found more civilized ways to voice their concerns, there have been some who have decided to take more drastic measures. A Taiwanese photographer with a studio in Beijing, Qi Xiao (Wallace Huo) couldn’t help but be drawn to the pretty girl he noticed trying to get into the concert. When she accepted the ticket he offered, his heart leapt and the time they spent together that evening would stay with him forever. That was in 1991. Today, things for An Ran and Qi Xiao are very different than what they imagined they would be, all those years ago.

A once-famous talk show host, An Ran, now a widow, lives in California with her estranged teenage daughter, Yu Xiaonian (Vicky Chen). When An Ran’s father becomes ill, Xiaonian returns to Beijing to care for him. While there, she discovers a collection of letters and photographs that tell the story of An Ran and Qi Xiao’s love; a love that was torn apart by family obligations, government restrictions, and the cruel interference of others. When these glimpses of the past combine with Xiaonian’s own memories she begins to see her mother in a whole new light. Will the truth of An Ran’s past be enough to heal the breach between them?

Growing up in Beijing, Zhang Baoqing (Karry Wang) had no idea what the world was like outside the bustling city he called home. Unfamiliar with the ways of the world beyond the city, and completely ignorant of the dangers in nature, he was the least likely to ever venture beyond the familiar neighborhood. But when his beloved teacher falls ill, venture he must.

Determined to find the cure for his ailing teacher, Baoqing sets off for a remote village, nestled deep within the mountains, in hopes of finding the medicine that will cure the teacher. With no clue how to survive in the wild, Baoqing leaves all he knows behind, completely unaware of the dangers that await him.

As he journeys through the wilds, Baoqing befriends two eagle hunters, Cai Gua (Vicky Chen) and her younger brother Er Bizi (Zheng Hao). Together the intrepid trio scour the snowy mountains in search of the medicine that will save Baoqing’s teacher. Along the way, Baoqing comes across an egg that hatches into a majestic white eagle. Once hatched, the eagle sets off a series of events that leads the friends down a path to greater understanding, not only of themselves but of the wider world around them.
