Katagiri Hairi is a Japanese actress and author who was born on January 18, 1963, in the Tokyo satellite city of Ota. She studied at Seikei University and made her acting debut in the early 1980s and in 1986 starred in the movie “Comic Magazine.” More recently, she has appeared in the films “Hold Me Back” (2020) and “The Blue Danube” (2021).

Mitsuko Kuroda (Nounen Rena) is 31-years-old and lives alone and is very happily single. She enjoys every moment of her life alone – but she never really feels alone because she has developed an alter-ego named A (Tomoya Nakamura) who dwells with her in her head. She has frequent conversations with A, who provides useful advice and sometimes berates her. Unfortunately, sometimes she has these conversations with A in public, leading to frequent misunderstandings!

But when she meets a younger man, a salesman named Tada (Kento Hayashi), she suddenly starts to question if her single life really is all that great. With A’s advice – or perhaps despite it – she decides to explore her emotions for Tada, albeit in the most awkward manner imaginable!

This film was based on a 2017 novel by the writer Rita Wataya.

Yoshika Eto (Matsuoka Mayu) has always been a dreamer. As a young child, her days were full of fantasies. And the undisputed prince of all her dreams was Ichi (Takumi Kitamura), a tall, good-looking high school classmate. She would once while away the hours drawing comics where Ichi featured as a heroic prince. In real life, though, she was always too shy to approach him.

Now, many years later, she still dreams of Ichi. She works as a junior accountant and has never had a boyfriend. But one day she resolves to change all that – and organizes a high school reunion (using a fake name), so she can have the chance to meet him again. Meanwhile, a bumbling and loud co-worker named Kirishima (Daichi Watanabe) has developed a crush on her. Initially, Yoshika Eto isn’t keen, but eventually agrees to go on a date with him, pleased to finally have an admirer.

But as the school reunion approaches, she will finally meet Ichi again – will he turn out to be the Prince Charming of his dreams, or should she turn her romantic attentions to the goofy by loving Kirishima?
