Satoshi Tsumabuki is a Japanese musician and actor. He was born in Yanagawa, Fukuoka, Japan on December 13, 1980 and made his debut as an actor in 1998. Since then, he has appeared in numerous films and television dramas, including “All About My Siblings” (2014) and “Detective Chinatown 2” (2018). An award winning actor with an impressive career, he finds that the best way to express himself and relieve stress is through music. As such, he enjoys playing with “Basking Life”, the band he formed with his brother in 1999, whenever he has the time.

The young, straight-laced and highly analytical Chinese detective Qin Feng (Liu Hao Ran) has been forced into an uneasy partnership with his polar opposite, the noisy and hyperactive Thai investigator Tang Ren (Wang Bao Qiang).

After investigating cases in Bangkok and New York, they have now been sent to Tokyo, Japan, where they must get to the bottom of an unusual crime.

After the sudden murder of a Japanese mafia kingpin, the chief suspect is one of his rivals, a cool, calculated man named Watanabe (Miura Tomokazu).

But Watanabe claims he is innocent of the crime, and wants the detective duo to help him clear his name.

Suguri Toko (Kaho) seems to be living a perfect and happy life. She is married to a man who seemingly cherishes her. During the last years of the Tang Dynasty, a young aristocrat by the name of Nie Yinniang (Shu Qi) was taken from her home by her aunt, the Princess turned Taoist nun, Jia Xin (Fang Yi Sheu), to be trained as an assassin. Studying the ways of the assassin since she was ten, Yinniang has grown into nothing short of a living weapon, one wielded by her aunt to slay the corrupt government officials who would otherwise rule unchecked. But when Yinniang unexpectedly shows mercy to one of her intended targets, her aunt punishes her with a ruthless test of mettle.

Loosely based on the seventh-century tale of “Nie Yinniang” by Pei Xing, “The Assassin” is a 2015 Taiwan/Hong Kong/China co-produced wuxia film directed by Hou Hsiao Hsien.
