Matsushita Kouhei is a Japanese singer and actor who was born on March 6, 1987, in Tokyo, Japan. While still a child, he hoped to emulate his mother and become an oil painter, but eventually also developed an interest in acting and music. He graduated from the Vocal Department of the SHOBI College of Music and began singing professionally in 2008. In 2012, he appeared in the drama “Will You Marry Me…Again?” He followed up with a role in “The Brothers Karamazov” in 2013 and more recently starred in the dramas “Familiar Wife” in 2021 and “Involvement in Family Affairs” (2022).

Sato Shinohara (Tsuchiya Tao) runs a budget-friendly restaurant in a busy urban area with her mother. The restaurant is very unassuming, but it has a lot of regular customers. And most of them frequently come because of Sato Shinohara’s welcoming attitude and kind personality. She has been dating a man named Kenta Miyama (Matsushita Kouhei), who loves her dearly. One day, he decides to pop the question – and she happily accepts.

But this duo cannot sail off into the sunset just yet, as there is a very large complication – namely, Kenta Miyama’s family. This formerly noble family can trace its past back four centuries and happens to hark back to Japan’s feudal past. They are exceptionally wealthy and are used to high society life. The idea of their beloved son marrying a mere “commoner” like Sato Shinohara is abhorrent to them. Kenta Miyama assures her that his family will come around – and warm to her. But, despite his reassurances, his family continues to object: Can Sato Shinohara win them over with her unique charms? Or is their union destined to fail before they even tie the knot?

This drama was based on a manga series of the same name by Koyama Yukami.

In 2006, Sanada Rio’s (Yuriko Yoshitaka) peaceful town was shaken to its core after one of the local townspeople went missing. Suddenly a prime suspect in a case that now involves murder, Sanada soon finds herself coming face-to-face with Daiki Miyazaki (Kouhei Matsushita), the detective in charge of the case and her old flame.&nbsp;

Forced to face the ghosts of her past, Sanada’s memories begin to resurface, leaving her to wonder what happened all those years ago. Certain Sanada knows more than she’s letting on, will Daiki be able to prove her connection to the case or will his investigation prove her innocence?

Peppered with romance and mystery, “Dearest” is a 2021 Japanese mystery romance thriller drama directed by Ayuko Tsukahara, Takeyoshi Yamamoto, and Yoshiaki Murao.
